“Thunder Ken” Novak – Five String Bass Guitar

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio… His eclectic style is mainly influenced by the following Bassists: Jack Casady of Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna, Larry Taylor of Canned Heat, John Entwistle of The Who, and Ron Wood of The Jeff Beck Group.

Ken has done theatre production work for major universities in Cleveland and has been on television. He has performed a wide variety of styles including classic rock, progressive rock, blues, blues-rock, soul, new age music, country, and jazz.

 

 

His aggressive style has a distinctive clarity and tone, which is a combination of guitar and bass on the same instrument. Ken has also performed with Ace Crowell, saxophone player for Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin, Joe Tex, and Percy Sledge.
